Multi Media Strategies - About Laura

Laura Eberman is Founder and President of Multi Media Strategies, Ltd., an integrated digital and offline customer retention loyalty marketing and web enablement consultancy in NYC.

As a result of her diversified corporate and entrepreneurial experience, Laura has developed a multi-faceted knowledge base and skill set in such areas as accounting, finance, real estate, venture capital, and strategic Internet marketing.

Laura has built the business over the past sixteen years by successfully selling and delivering client engagements focusing on Internet loyalty strategy deployment and web audit/enablement advisory services. Additionally, she and MMS have been retained by educational institutions and a consulting firm to conduct various custom research projects. MMS teams with a small number of experienced "virtual partners" to assess and benchmark competitive and best-of-breed web sites as well as offline best marketing practices. Recent web enablement projects include performance and aftermarket race car marketing, beverage distributor strategy development as well as legal services and real estate marketing, including web site design/auditing/redesign and organic search engine optimization.

Augmenting her specialization in finance with high-ROI, technology-enabled lead management, customer development and retention, and brand development to meet market needs and opportunities in the health/wellness industry, she has participated in the development of a physical activity loyalty rewards e-marketing program for a $48 billion health insurance company. Over her multi-year involvement with the project she has developed deliverables and/or performed research projects that include: two proprietary, case-based research studies, financial impact and sensitivity analyses, financial modeling, stakeholder survey development and deployment, database design and development, consumer behavior tracking and reporting, and web site development.

Prior to forming MMS, Laura was a Senior Associate in the Utility Corporate Finance department of Kidder, Peabody & Co. Incorporated where she performed due diligence investigations, reviewed registration statements/underwriting contracts, and assisted in the marketing and pricing of public utility security offerings. Engaging in analyses of restructuring options such as self-tenders, exchange offers, spin-offs, master limited partnerships, and leveraged buyouts, she also prepared formal Board presentations for tender defense clients, including financial and operational valuations, shareholder profile and stock activity reviews, assessment of the company's vulnerabilities, and detailed anti-takeover strategies.

Before her corporate finance experience, Laura was the Project Manager of Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company's Market Segmentation and Customer Profitability Reporting area, where she directed the investigation of data availability and initiated a standardized methodology for defining and identifying key customers, products, and market segments. Supporting corporate and divisional strategic planning groups, her efforts resulted in the Bank's targeting of their most profitable middle market segment.

In addition, at Manufacturers Hanover Venture Capital Corporation, as Assistant to the CFO, Laura evaluated business proposals whilst researching relevant industries, and analyzed portfolio performance. As Ventures Compliance Officer at E.M. Warburg, Pincus & Co., Inc., Laura developed various monitoring and control procedures relating to the administration of the firm's portfolio and critiqued quarterly valuations of all diversified investments.

Independently specializing in the purchase, marketing, and sale of Manhattan townhouses and condominiums for foreign investors, Laura has been a NY State licensed real estate broker since 1991.

As a Guest Lecturer/Instructor at St. John's University, Laura has recently conducted an interactive multi-day workshop on user-centered web design and search engine optimization strategies with 42 French exchange students. She has taught college level accounting, international finance, and entrepreneurship at the High School of Economics and Finance for the NYC Board of Education. She has also studied piano and coached operatic roles in French, German, and Italian, and assistant choreographed and performed at the International Dance Festival in Montpellier, France.

Laura received her M.B.A. in finance from New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business and her B.A., cum laude, in psychology from Columbia University. She also earned a Certificate in philosophy and literature from the University of Nice, France. Currently, she is pursuing a doctorate degree (D.B.A.) in international business management in Paris/NY.
