Laura Eberman is Founder and President of Multi Media Strategies, Ltd., an integrated digital and offline customer retention loyalty marketing and web enablement consultancy in NYC.
As a result of her diversified corporate and entrepreneurial experience, Laura has developed a multi-faceted knowledge base and skill set in such areas as accounting, finance, real estate, venture capital, and strategic Internet marketing.
Laura has built the business over the past sixteen years by
successfully selling and delivering client engagements
focusing on Internet loyalty strategy deployment and web
audit/enablement advisory services. Additionally, she and
MMS have been retained by educational institutions and a
consulting firm to conduct various custom research projects.
MMS teams with a small number of experienced "virtual
partners" to assess and benchmark competitive and
best-of-breed web sites as well as offline best marketing
practices. Recent web enablement projects include
performance and aftermarket race car marketing, beverage
distributor strategy development as well as legal services
and real estate marketing, including web site
design/auditing/redesign and organic search engine
optimization.
Augmenting her specialization in finance with high-ROI, technology-enabled
lead management, customer development and retention, and
brand development to meet market needs and opportunities in
the health/wellness industry, she has participated in the
development of a physical activity loyalty rewards
e-marketing program for a $48 billion health insurance
company. Over her multi-year involvement with the project
she has developed deliverables and/or performed research
projects that include: two proprietary, case-based
research studies, financial impact and sensitivity analyses,
financial modeling, stakeholder survey development and
deployment, database design and development, consumer
behavior tracking and reporting, and web site development.
Prior to forming MMS, Laura was a Senior Associate in the Utility Corporate
Finance department of Kidder, Peabody & Co. Incorporated
where she performed due diligence investigations, reviewed
registration statements/underwriting contracts, and assisted
in the marketing and pricing of public utility security
offerings. Engaging in analyses of restructuring options
such as self-tenders, exchange offers, spin-offs, master
limited partnerships, and leveraged buyouts, she also
prepared formal Board presentations for tender defense
clients, including financial and operational valuations,
shareholder profile and stock activity reviews, assessment
of the company's vulnerabilities, and detailed anti-takeover
strategies.
Before her corporate finance experience, Laura was the Project Manager of
Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company's Market
Segmentation and Customer Profitability Reporting area,
where she directed the investigation of data availability
and initiated a standardized methodology for defining and
identifying key customers, products, and market segments.
Supporting corporate and divisional strategic planning
groups, her efforts resulted in the Bank's targeting of
their most profitable middle market segment.
In addition, at Manufacturers Hanover Venture Capital
Corporation, as Assistant to the CFO, Laura evaluated
business proposals whilst researching relevant industries,
and analyzed portfolio performance. As Ventures Compliance
Officer at E.M. Warburg, Pincus & Co., Inc., Laura
developed various monitoring and control procedures relating
to the administration of the firm's portfolio and critiqued
quarterly valuations of all diversified investments.
Independently specializing in the purchase, marketing, and
sale of Manhattan townhouses and condominiums for foreign
investors, Laura has been a NY State licensed real estate
broker since 1991.
As a Guest Lecturer/Instructor at St. John's University,
Laura has recently conducted an interactive multi-day workshop on user-centered web
design and search engine optimization strategies with 42
French exchange students. She has taught college level accounting, international finance, and
entrepreneurship at the High School of Economics and Finance
for the NYC Board of Education. She has also studied
piano and coached operatic roles in French, German, and
Italian, and assistant choreographed and performed at the
International Dance Festival in Montpellier, France.
Laura received her M.B.A. in finance from New York
University Leonard N. Stern School of Business and
her B.A., cum laude, in psychology from Columbia
University. She also earned a Certificate in philosophy
and literature from the University of Nice, France.
Currently, she is pursuing a doctorate degree (D.B.A.)
in international business management in Paris/NY. Her
cultural interests revolve around the performing arts:
theatre, ballet, opera and piano.
